Shoe rack is an indispensable utility product in every home to avoid the utter clutter of daily wear and occasional use footwears. Moreover, a neat and tidy storage space is essential to shield those expensive pairs from dust build up and to maintain the shine, longevity and lustre of leather shoes.
However, our shoe storage needs may change or evolve with time, as I also discussed in the review of my first shoe rack. So here I would talk about my second, a wooden shoe rack, purchased from Amazon, which replaced the earlier one.
This shoe rack, is a piece of wooden furniture placed in our living room. It is a three-door, three-shelf shoe cabinet with one double door compartment and one single door section. The front doors are slatted, to provide ventilation and thereby preventing any bad odour. The single door section can hold one adult pair each, on its three shelves. The two-door compartment can hold three to four pair of shoes. For instance, up to three pairs of running shoes or four slippers can be placed on each shelf of the cabinet. However, the doors may not close properly, when men’s footwear of size 10 or bigger, are placed parallel to the width of the rack. Hence in order to close the door, we need to keep the large sized shoes parallel to the length of the cabinet, which takes up more space. Thus, depending on the way of arranging footwear, it can hold somewhere between 12 to around 15-16 footwear. If this does not suffice your requirement, then it can be supplemented with additional storage options. There is also, another option of going for a bigger sized shoe cabinet, if required. However, I did not want a bigger size, as this shoe cabinet was just the right size from the aesthetic aspects of our living room. It provided us with just the required organisation, at just the required place, which was next to the main door entry. The wenge colour of the cabinet matches well with our furniture and it synced well with the décor and visual aesthetics of the room. The wooden legs of the cabinet also provide enough room for daily cleaning under the shoe rack to avoid any dust accumulation underneath it. The cabinet required carpenter assembly, which was arranged by Amazon, at no extra cost and was scheduled as per our convenience and availability, without any hassles.
All in all, this is a good product to buy and can store up to 18 pairs, with some careful maneuvering. It is good looking, well made, quality product and comes with a three months warranty for manufacturing defects.
